Hooping it up at the Aboriginal Sports Circle Awards Dinner

The Aboriginal Sports Circle held their annual awards dinner last night, and brought in a very special treat from the south: Terrance and Jayson Littletent. The brothers performed a traditional hoop dance where they told stories and paid respect to elders, women, the earth, the trees, the water and the animals.

The story they told was of the Eagle in its nest looking out into the world and recreating everything it saw until it took flight.

Starting with a single hoop, and working all the way up to 17 hoops, Terrance showed expert dexterity and flexibility as he turned the hoops into various shapes while Jayson sang and played the drum.
