I’ve never got to shoot a wedding like Scott and Shawna’s before. For the most part, weddings are magical for their candid moments where people show how much they love each other. I always feel spoiled getting that intimate look into people’s lives on one of the happiest days of their lives. But this wedding, I felt spoiled for much more than that reason. Scott and Shawna are in one of the most entertaining bands I’ve had the privilege to see live, and they were going to do a special wedding concert for all the guests.
The concert was fantastic, but it was made even better by the joining of the two band mates.
It all happened on a wonderfully sunny day, June 20, 2015, the longest day of the year. Wanting to have a unique and music theme to their special day, Scott and Shawna had made their own decorations from sheet music. They used these to decorate the church, the reception hall, and even as corsages for the groom and groomsmen. They also wanted a northern flair to the wedding, so they decided to accent the tuxes with all the colours of the aurora borealis: green, pink and purple. Scott wore a tie with all three.
The bride wore a classic white dress, and so did the flower girls. The bridesmaids all wore black evening gowns.
