Team Canada took home a decisive win against Slovakia. The team lead the entire game and dominated most of the ice time resulting in a 6-1 victory.

Maxime Cometois was a force to be reckoned with on the ice. He was hitting, shooting and winning face off all night for his team.
The whole team created opportunities like Jaret Anderson-Dolan’s wrap-around shot that resulted in a rebound goal.
Team Canada spent most of the second period crashing Slovakia’s net. They carried the puck over the blue line and charged the net aggressively.
This resulted in a whole lot more scoring chances and got under Slovakia’s skin too.
No one likes it when their goalie gets a face full snow.
The World Juniors is awesome hockey to watch and fans really got into the game by the third period.
Slovakia didn’t give up and played their best in the third period putting a lot of pressure on Team Canada.
Their hard work created opportunities deep in Canada’s end.
Eventually they found a hole in Team Canada’s defence and Marek Korencik put one between the pipes to put Slovakia on the score board.
But it wasn’t enough, and the home team took home the win.
Victoria’s Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre was treated to the Canadian national anthem and the raising of the flag.
And the fans couldn’t be happier about seeing the boys in read win the good old hockey game.
